Thriving with Arthritis
Arthritis is the most common chronic joint condition with nearly 1 in 4 Americans diagnosed with some form of the disease. Exercise is a first line management strategy with overwhelming scientific support, but most people living with arthritis do not meet basic physical activity recommendations. The aim of this workshop, taught by our very own Joanna Nobbe, will be to review the most common types of arthritis (there are over 100 types!), better understand the disease process, and to learn strategies for managing pain and living well with arthritis.
A bit about Joanna:
Joanna Nobbe is a physical therapist and coach at Uptown Movement. She started at Uptown as a client in 2016 and the gym was so good that she went on to join the staff! Joanna is a certified specialist in orthopedics and outside her work at the gym she currently treats people living with complex chronic conditions such as dysautonomia and long COVID. Her mission at Uptown Movement is to bridge the gap between healthcare and the fitness/wellness space to keep people strong and healthy and ideally out of the medical system for as long as possible!
