Angola Capoeira

Capoeira is an African-Brazilian art form developed
by enslaved Africans in the struggle for liberation during colonial times.
Capoeira combines elements of acrobatics, dance, fight, music, ritual,
history, and philosophy.

The Workshop:
Class will be 90 minutes long. 60-75 minutes will be comprised of a
warm up and practice of fundamental capoeira movements of escape,
attack, and dance. The last portion of class will be an introduction to the
music of Capoeira. Participants will be instructed in the basic rhythms
and have a chance to play some of the instruments and learn at least 1
song in Portuguese.
All abilities and levels are welcomed.

Jennifer is a member and Treinel (teacher) of the International Capoeira
